Microfiber Sofa

Microfiber is a recently discovered fibre which is very durable and easy to take care of. These and other properties make it ideal for being used in sofas and couches. The basic structure of the fibre is based on the polyester pattern and it is extremely thin. Each fibre is nearly 100 times finer than a single strand of human hair, and thus is more powerful than normal polyester. This fine texture also enables it to absorb colour more deeply. The colour does not look as if it is added externally; it rather becomes a part of the manufacturing process. In the long run, this makes the fabric resistant to fading and wearing off.

As they are so fine, dust particles can’t settle in easily. This makes them perfect for people who are asthmatic or are prone to other dust related allergies. So, they have all the makings of an excellent fabric for sofas- they are strong, durable, don’t fade, have exceptionally true colours, and can be cleaned just by a cloth.

These fibres were earlier used to make different sorts of clothes particularly outdoor wear clothing. Besides, they were also used to make handbags, cleaning cloth and official business cases. Off late, they have been extensively used in the field of interior designing- in sofas, chairs, couches, and other such products.

Their fineness and texture makes them resistant to any kind of stains. Thus, one doesn’t have to put in any effort in cleaning them. You just have to wipe them with a normal cloth; you don’t even need to cover the furniture with a protective covering. If you want, you can also use a mild vacuum cleaner but otherwise, normal cloth cleaning would suffice. You can also ask the fabric dealer if he can add extra stain resisting shield to the sofas.

If your little baby leaves a urine stain on the sofa, you can get rid of the odour easily. Just mix vinegar and distilled water, and use a cloth dipped in the above solution to clean the area. Once this is done, sprinkle a little baking soda and then use a vacuum cleaner over the area.

While buying a sofa made of microfiber, ensure that its genuine and real as only real fibre is easy to clean and maintain. The fake one will develop stains easily. In case that happens, try using steam cleaning or get professionals to do it for you.
